I first saw this orchid on a short walk in the lower reaches of
Kosciuszko National Park.
A year later I also saw it locally on the slopes of
Mt Dandenong
on the fringes of an area that had been burned off for wildfire fuel reduction.
Most orchids in my area do well after the ground has been burned.
This orchid is similar in size and flower to the Leopard Orchid
but the Tiger Orchid has a significant dorsal septal and insignificant lateral petals.
